Our tips for Bali

  • Make Way. Although cute, the stray dogs, monkeys, and other animals should be approached with a degree of caution. Rabies and other diseases are still found here; so, give the animals a little space during your Bali tour.
  • What Sarong With You? Most visitors enter at least one local temple at some point. If you decide to go inside one of these holy places, you should wear the traditional sarong and scarf as a sign of respect.
  • A Penny Saved. The best places to change money safely advertise pretty clearly. Look for the green shield containing the words “PVA Berizin” on the outside of money-changing establishments. These businesses typically provide the best rates and will cut you a fairer deal.

Good to know

Bali enjoys a truly tropical climate with temperatures that remain constant year-round! So, in general, if you want to determine the best time to visit Bali, you will have to decide what’s most important to you. If you want the best weather for simply relaxing on the beaches, late May through early August provides the driest weather. But, you’ll also encounter the highest amount of tourism during this time, which means higher rates across the board. Monsoon lasts from October to April, bringing the wind and rain. It’s not the best time for sunbathing; but, the landscape is at its greenest and the wildlife becomes highly active. Finally, surfers can enjoy Bali all year long. However, the best waves hit the west side of the peninsula between May and October.
