Discover the city with a heart, Delhi, on this lovely private tour taking you to the best monuments of both Old and New parts of the city. Exhibiting an alluring blend of history and modernity, the city offers a myriad of experiences - from towering skyscrapers, entrancing plant enclosures, old religious locales to historical centers, workmanship exhibitions and last but not least, a haven for shopping enthusiasts.
Comprising a hassle-free journey in an AC car, your day begins in Old Delhi with the first stop being the spectacular Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Asia and a sprawling vision in red sandstone. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan, it is one of the finest specimens of Mughal architecture with the enormous courtyard having a capacity to accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers - making for a bewitching sight to behold during regular Namaz sessions.
Next, you’ll hop onto a delightful local tuk-tuk to traverse the charming lanes of Chandni Chowk. Engulfed in the mouth watering fragrances of some of the best street food in the world, you'll arrive at Asia’s largest spice market, Khari Baoli. One of the biggest Hindu temples in the country and an enormous spiritual-cultural complex, Swaminarayan Akshardham, is lined up next. Admire an exceptional documentation of ‘traditional Hindu and Indian culture, spirituality, and architecture’ besides a host other exhibitions on Swaminarayan’s life and values. Moving on, we will visit the historic Gandhi Smriti - a complex dedicated to the ‘Father of the Nation’ and the site of the leader’s assassination.
We will break shortly for a sumptuous lunch at a lovely restaurant, sampling the true flavours of the world-renowned Indian cuisine, before continuing with our trail. Our drive will take us past the Rashtrapati Bhavan (The Presidential Residence) and the iconic India Gate, the towering war memorial synonymous with the country. Our final haunts for the day are two UNESCO World Heritage listed monuments - the gigantic ruins of the Qutb Minar complex, built by the founder of the Delhi Sultanate, and the incredible Humayun’s Tomb which happened to be the first garden tomb in the country - before returning you comfortably back to your hotel.
