Explore the fascinating outskirts of Georgetown on this half day tour. Witness the local life at a traditional fisherman’s village and observe the intricate art of making exquisite Malaysian textile at a Batik Factory. Relax during a morning drive along the scenic Batu Feringghi beaches and through the beautiful fruit plantations later. Explore the local fruits and spices and visit the Snake Temple and Kek Lok Si Temple.
Begin this tour with a hassle-free pick up from your hotel in Georgetown or Batu Feringghi. Set the tone for the day with a morning drive along the picturesque stretch of Batu Feringghi beaches and admire the views of the ocean. Enjoy memorable experiences outside of Georgetown with brief stops during the day in the following order:
Visit a traditional fisherman’s village to understand how the locals make a living by the sea.
Then, move to the Batik Factory to observe the making of this traditional Malaysian cloth with the use of wax and dye. Witness and appreciate the intricate techniques used by the artisans.
Continue this adventure with a drive past a dam and fruit plantations. Take a halt at a fruit stall for an introduction to local fruits and spices such as nutmeg and clove.
Visit the famous Snake Temple adorned with venomous pit vipers coiled around the altars and various other parts of the temple. Built in 1850, this pious place is also known as the 'Temple of the Azure Clouds'.
Enjoy some free time for lunch (at own expense) at an interesting spot before resuming this tour to the beautiful Kek Lok Si, one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic Buddhist temples. Marvel at the 7 tier pagoda of the 10,000 Buddhas, the 30-metre tall bronze statue of the Goddess of Mercy and the Pond of Longevity.
It’s time for a funicular train ride upto the Penang Hill or Bukit Bendera at 800 metres above sea level! Enjoy the exciting ride and feel a considerable decrease in temperature and humidity at the top of the hill. Admire the breathtaking panoramic views of Georgetown and the mainland and witness the splendid flora and fauna of Penang Hill, Malaysia’s oldest hill station.
On the way back, stop at the Harriston DIY Chocolate Workshops. An introduction to the art of Malaysia chocolate making packed with discovery, participate in a 45 –minutes hands-on experience, and of course, tasting and bringing home your own handmade DIY chocolates, apron and certificates.

If the Penang Hill Funicular Train is not operational, we will replace the tour with a visit to the Penang Botanical Garden.
