  • Have your Mozart moment. Traverse the birthplace of Mozart on your visit. One of the most influential composers of the classical era, Mozart’s former home is now a fascinating museum and one of the key Salzburg attractions.
  • On your bike. One of Austria’s most bike-friendly cities, be sure to set off on a scenic cycling trail or two on your Salzburg sightseeing adventure.
  • Night fever. Take time out for a romantic evening stroll through Salzburg. After nightfall, when the famous castle glows in the distance, the city is at its most beautiful.
  • Don’t forget the Christmas markets! Salzburg’s festive season is legendary the world over, with the town’s Christmas markets seeing many flock to the turrets of the city’s Old Town.

Good to know

There’s no real “best time” to visit this picture-perfect city, with breath-taking architecture and stunning scenery making Salzburg tours idyllic year-round. For those on a budget though, the cheapest accommodation and flights to this fairy-tale destination remains in the quieter October-November period, just before the lead up to Christmas. There are still plenty of things to do in Salzburg at this time too.
