Gwangjang Market
This tour brings together Seoul’s vivid experiences of the Royal Palace, the beautiful traditional Korean villages and the Gwangjang Market in a short span of 4 hours! Visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace, considered to be the most pompous and beautiful of the five palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. Check out the traditional Korean houses of Hanok Village and walk by Naksan Fortress Wall Park to explore its cafes, museums, antique shops and art galleries. Enjoy amazing photo opportunities at the artsy Ihwa Mural Village and explore the nation’s very first Gwangjang Market.
Kickstart this tour with a comfortable pick-up from your Seoul hotel. Enjoy the company of an expert guide throughout the tour. Your first stop in the tour is Gyeongbokgung Palace, also known as the Northern Palace, since its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces. Built by the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) as its main palace, it served as a representative of sovereign rule.
Move next to Bukchon Hanok Village to witness the beauty of traditional Korean wooden houses, called hanoks, that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. The picturesque Bukchonneighbourhood lies towards the north of two prominent Seoul landmarks - Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Experience, learn and immerse in the traditional Korean culture at these hanoks that now serve as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses.
Continue this journey to Naksan Fortress Wall Park, where one can take a walk along the streets lined with eateries, museums, antique shops and art galleries. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind environment of this region, where the traditional part of Seoul meets the modern. With many galleries having their own cafes, restaurants and craft shops, you may enjoy a one-stop experience!
Prepare for another memorable experience at Ihwa Mural Village. Experience the hipster cool vibe of this village that is surprisingly dedicated to street art! Climb up the steep stairways that are made in mosaics or are colourfully painted. See the metal sculptures that stand guard over the laneways and brightly painted murals at every corner!
This trip ends at Gwangjang Market, the nation’s first market which continues to sell high-quality local products at affordable rates. Have a fun shopping experience and try some delicious snacks at this traditional street market.
