Embark on a full-day tour in Seoul that takes you around the historically and culturally relevant landmark palaces and attractions in the city along with a special visit to the Korean Folk Village. Explore royal places like the Blue House, Cheongwadae Saragchae, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. Watch The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony and gain a perspective on the traditional way of life of Korea in the past at the National Folk Museum. Visit the popular Jogyesa Temple and drive past many other prominent destinations.

What’s more? Drop by the Korean Folk Village to witness real houses from the late Joseon period, relocated from across the country and restored to create a replica of the actual village.

Itinerary

Start this day with a comfortable pick up from your Seoul hotel. Enjoy comfortable transfers to several royal, historical and cultural landmarks in Seoul along with an expert guide, who makes this tour an even more informative and fun experience! Drive past the Deoksugung Palace, one of the five grand palaces built by the kings of Joseon Dynasty, known for its unique western-style garden and fountain. Pass by the Seoul Station and Sungnyemun - one of the Eight Gates in the Fortress Wall of Seoul which surrounded the city in the Joseon dynasty.

Check out the 11-km long Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs through downtown Seoul. Now a public recreation space, Cheonggyecheon is a massive urban renewal project at the site of a river that once flowed freely during the Joseon Dynasty! Stop next at the main gate of the presidential residence of the Republic of Korea - Blue House or Cheongwadae, a fantastic background to click a souvenir photo. Then, witness Cheongwadae Saranchae, a Korean presidential exhibition center.

Prepare for another highlight of this tour – Gyeongbokgung Palace, built by the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) as its main palace. You will also explore the National Folk Museum of Korea, located within the grounds of the Gyeongbokgung Palace that houses 4000 items on Korea’s traditional way of life, history and culture. Observe The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, a rare traditional scene in Korea. Don’t forget to take some memorable pictures of the guards in their impressive costumes.

Enjoy a visit to Jogyesa Temple, the center of Zen Buddhism in Korea. Relax during lunch time and savour a traditional Korean hot dish called dolsot bibimbap, popular for its balance and exceptional taste.

Finally, get a taste of the traditional culture from the late Joseon period that existed several centuries ago at Korean Folk Village. A popular tourist destination for both Koreans and foreigners, this living museum displays elements that bring to light the lifestyle of yesteryears. Meet potters, weavers, blacksmiths and other artisans who still follow traditional trade practices. Also, explore the 270 traditional houses and a small amphitheater for folk music and dance performances!

This extensive tour comes to end in the evening with a convenient transfer back to central Seoul.

The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony does not take place on Tuesdays. You will visit the Deoksugung Palace instead.
