Visit Pamukkale hot springs that contain travertines, and terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. Then visit the ancient city of Hierapolis. Explore the unique travertine terraces of Pamukkale (literally “Cotton Castles” in Turkish), and enjoy a full-day trip to one of Turkey’s most popular attractions.
There are several different stops along the way to Pamukkale to ease the lengthy journey and make it more pleasant.
Denizli, which is the city closest to Pamukkale, is where you'll make a halt to admire the magnificent overall view.
The event continues with an open-bar lunch at a local restaurant in the Pamukkale area. It will be possible to see the slope with the dazzling white porches from the restaurant.
When you first arrive at Pamukkale, look for the remains of Hierapolis (such as the amphitheater, city walls, bathhouses, and necropolis), which can help you learn more about the geography and history of the area.
At this point, you can take advantage of the full splendor of this natural wonder by strolling along the white travertines and swimming in the area's frequent pools filled with water from the nearby aquifer.
There is an old pool named Cleopatra's Pool nearby the travertines; swimming there is optional and subject to an additional fee (not included, payable on the spot).
The beautiful white travertine and documented estimates of the Hierapolis Ancient City led to the addition of Pamukkale to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list (1988).
You can relax while traveling back, stop to do some shopping (at a store selling materials, calfskin, and onyx texture), and then drive to Bodrum.
There will be a last stop on the way before you head back to your hotel.
