Boston Tea Party was the defining moment which led to the War of American Independence. The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum is dedicated to the storytelling of that crucial night of December 16, 1773 when the demonstrators, some disguised as American Indians destroyed an entire shipment of tea sent by the East India Company in defiance of the Tea Act of May 10, 1773.

At the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum you can explore the two historically restored tall ships and the Robinson Half-Chest, one of only two surviving tea chests from the Boston Tea Party. You can also get inspired by the film Let It Begin Here in the Minuteman Theatre.

You will visit the breathtaking Abigail’s Tea Room where you can enjoy freshly baked food, a spot of tea, and learn more about the types of tea thrown overboard in 1773 and the tea-brewing process.

After that, you can stopover at the enchanting Gift Shop where you can buy beautiful souvenirs to take back home!
