Overview
Join us on your tour and we’ll take you all the way to the Bratislava castle on our historical vehicles –Prešporácik Oldtimer. You will get historical insight which will tell you about the hidden gems of Bratislava.
The tour starts near the historical building of Slovak National Theater, at the square of Eugen Suchon. After you board the Prešporácik Oldtimer and plug your headphones which will be given to you by our staff, you can choose your audio guide language from the 18 available languages.
During the Castle tour you will see the broader city center and of course Bratislava Castle. The tour will begin with information about the historical building of the Slovak National theater and the Ganymede’s fountain out in front, which depicts a Greek mythological story. You will continue your drive under the „Manderlák“, first high building of Bratislava, then around the historical building of the Slovak Post Office, which is still an important post office to this day.
The drive continues all the way to the church of the holy third – Trinity church. From there you can already see the beginning of “shop street”, an important promenade in Bratislava, which is filled with shops and restaurants. You will also see Blumenthal church, National Bank of Slovakia, the building of Slovak Radio which is the shape of a reversed pyramid. On our way to the Bratislava Castle you will see the archbishop’s summer palace, today’s site of the government and presidential palace, with its history which reaches back to the year of 1760.
Next stop is Bratislava Castle. This is next to the Slovak parliament. During the 20 minute break at the castle you can experience the magnificent view of Bratislava city and enjoy the magical atmosphere of the baroque garden. On your way from the castle you will see the majestic bridge of SNP – the longest pylon bridge in the world as well as the building of the Slovak National Gallery with it’s iconic “bridging”. You will also get to know about one of the oldest hotels in the town, find out how the Slovak language was made and quite a bit about our history reaching back to the times of the Hungarian kingdom.
