Brisbane is famously known as the “City of Bridges” as it has several river crossings such as the iconic Victoria bridge and Story Bridge. It also earned the name “Jacaranda City” due to a wide variety of jacaranda trees that bloom to give purple hues during the spring season. Brisbane’s Spring Hill Reservoir serves as an underground water reserve and was constructed back in the 19th century and is still operational. It is now used as a space for operas and concerts. In 1930, Brisbane’s City Hall was completed, and it houses the ‘time capsule’ that contains artifacts depicting Brisbane’s history. The famous cricket ground of Brisbane is known as Woolloongabba or Gabba.
