Overview
The Pacuare River has been named as one of the top five rivers in the world for whitewater rafting, and is world-famous for its beauty and sense of isolation. As you pass through this virgin tropical rainforest you'll see waterfalls cascading down the steep sides of the gorge, where tropical parrots and toucans fly over the land of jaguars, sloths, monkeys and ocelots.
The 28 km of wild river is not overly challenging, so even beginners can participate, but it is packed with class 3 and 4 rapids guaranteed to keep things interesting, as well as smoother sections that will allow you to relax and soak up your surroundings. With a guide on hand to tell you all about this fragile and beautiful ecosystem, as well as full safety briefing, you can be sure that you will have a fun and informative time on the water. Breakfast is included, as is lunch, served at the Bocadito Restaurante in Cervantes de Cartago, where you can taste traditional Costa Rican cuisine.
A day spent exploring rafting is a perfect way to experience wild nature, get close to Costa Rica's incredible flora and fauna and test yourself against the mighty Pacuare River in a safe and secure environment. So strap on your lifejacket, fasten your helmet and grab your paddle, and set off to explore an incredible jungle world on this intoxicating rafting adventure.
