Itinerary

Day 1: Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula

Beginning with a comfortable pickup from your accommodation, you will drive along the Yamuna Expressway to reach Agra in about 3 - 4 hours. Once you arrive, you can comfortably check-in to your hotel and take your time to freshen up, before commencing our sightseeing for the day.

Agra Fort: Our first stop is the breathtaking Agra Fort, the official residence of the Mughal Dynasty (think everyone from Babur to Aurangzeb!) up to 1638. It is home to a bunch of historic sites inside, including the very popular Shish Mahal with its mirror mosaic work, and has also been part of India’s colonial past - it was the site of one of the battles during the Indian rebellion of 1857 post which the British took direct control of the country.

I'timad-ud-Daulah: Also known as Baby Taj Mahal or Bachcha Taj in Hindi, this is a mausoleum commissioned by Nur Jahan for his father Mirza Ghiyas Beg and is often considered to be a draft for the Taj Mahal.

Once we are done with our sightseeing, we can help you find the perfect place for dinner, especially if you are looking to dig into the magic of Indian flavours.

Day 2: Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri

Our sightseeing on the second day is divided into two parts, beginning with a sunrise tour of the ethereal Taj Mahal, dropping you back to the hotel for breakfast and taking you to Fatehpur Sikri later in the day.

Taj Mahal: One of the seven wonders of the world and an iconic ‘Monument of Love’, the Taj Mahal leaves every single visitor a little breathless with its exquisite beauty and grandeur. Commissioned by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his beloved wife, Nur Jahan, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". Use all your senses to truly soak up the experience of watching the sun rise over this architectural spectacle, as the ivory white monument starts reflecting the myriad shades of dawn.

Fatehpur Sikri: Founded as the Mughal capital city under Akbar, the sprawling town is a world of red sandstone with historic parts like the Buland Darwaza, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Ibadat Khana and more. From religious buildings to administrative ons, this was a tiny microcosm of Akbar’s administrative centre that ruled over most of the country.

Once we are done with our sightseeing for the day, we will drive you back to your accommodation or the Airport in Delhi.
