This full-day excursion enables you to view the natural wonder of Iguassu from both Argentina and Brazil. Gaze awe-struck as torrents of water plunge over a 300-foot precipice against a backdrop of lush tropical growth. See the tiny water droplets glisten like diamonds and rainbows play on the great plumes of spray.
Make sure you have a camera with you to capture the stunning panoramic views.
You can choose to share the trip with others or pick the private option which gives you a more personal experience.
The Iguassu Falls from Argentina and Brazil full-day tour is available in two options: shared or private. With the shared option you will travel with a group of up to 40 people. If you select the private option you will be able to enjoy more personal attention from your guide and take the tour at your own pace.
Whichever option you choose, you will be picked up from your Puerto Iguassu hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and driven to the Iguassu National Park. A bilingual (English and Spanish) guide will accompany you.
Located on the Iguazú River, on the border between Brazil and Argentina, Iguassu Falls is one of world’s most impressive cataracts – 60 feet higher than Niagara and about 1 ½ times as wide.
The name Iguassu comes from the Guaraní Indian word meaning ‘great water’. The Falls consists of 275 separate waterfalls plunging 300 feet over a precipice more than 1 ½ miles across.
This delightful tour allows you to experience the awesome spectacle of the Iguassu from both sides of the river – Brazilian and Argentinean.
From the Visitor Center on the Argentinean side you can head down trails or ride a picturesque train (included in the entrance fee). There are two basic circuits: an upper path and a lower path.
The lower path (Paseo Inferior) leads to the base of the Falls where the headlong crash of the torrent releases a thick mist into the air. The upper path (Paseo Superior) leads you around the top rim of the precipice and affords breathtaking views from a strategically placed catwalk.
You will then be taken to the Brazilian side for views of the famous feature known as The Devil´s Throat (or ‘Garganta del Diablo’). Here, 14 falls drop 350 feet with such force that a 100-foot tall cloud of mist is permanently suspended overhead. Watch for the rainbow!
For a close-up look, walk through the subtropical forest of Iguassu National Park to the base of Salto Floriano and take the elevator to the top of the Falls, or walk out over the Falls at Salto Union.
Lucnh is not included in this tour but there are snack bars and rstaurants on both sides of the Falls.
At the end of an adventurous and exciting day you will be dropped back at your hotel.
Please call the activity operator at least 48 hours prior to start of the tour to give them the name of your Puerto Iguassu hotel for the morning pick-up.
To enter Brazil you will need to carry appropriate identification. If you are not a citizen of Argentina you will need to carry a passport and, when required by international agreements, a Brazilian visa. US citizens, for example, require a visa to enter Brazil
