Overview
Douro Valley is one of the most stunning landscapes in the world and is famous for its port wine production. Listed as a World Heritage site, the views and the serenity will simply take your breath away.
In the little village of Pinhão, you’ll have the chance to take in the lush green fields around you, the picturesque vineyards and breathe in the fresh countryside air. What better way to embrace the surroundings than by a relaxing, slow boat ride in a traditional rabelo boat along the river? We’ll meander down the river, passing by Quinta da Romaneira before returning back to port where we’ll visit the historic railway station.
At the railway station you will be fascinated to see the blue and white azulejos that cover the walls, capturing the landscapes in Duoro and portraying the harvest season. There really is nothing like this! After we’ll indulge in a traditional, tasty lunch to recharge our energy.
Saving the best till last, you will have the fantastic opportunity to taste some of the much-loved wine of the region, along with an extremely interesting introduction to the history and the making of such fine wine. The Douro is a stimulation for all your senses – the delicious taste of its wine, the stunning landscapes, the rich culture, the cuisine and the warm, friendly people!
