Catch the elusive Aurora Borealis in Finland on a Lapland Northern Lights Hunt!
Grab your thermals, winter boots, and desire for adventure because we’re going Northern Lights hunting in the Arctic Circle! The experience of seeing the Northern Lights for the first time during a Finland trip is almost spiritual. There is something ethereal about the Northern Lights; so, it isn’t hard to understand why so many superstitious beliefs are connected to them. The indigenous people even believed that you should not wave at the Northern Lights lest you get carried away by them! Keep that in mind should you be lucky enough to find the Aurora Borealis during the Lapland Northern Lights Hunt portion of your Finland vacation!
You will hunt for the Northern Lights outside of Rovaniemi, the official home of Santa Claus! The area around Rovaniemi is famous for is its Northern Lights and you will be taken to a lakeside, far away from the city lights, in order to give you the best chance to see them. Here, you will be spoiled with an authentic Lappish meal. Part of the menu includes hand-baked Lapland bread, barbecued Lapland wild boar sausage, and Arctic fish soup. Enjoy your meal amongst the endless expanse of snow cover while your guide recounts the mythology behind the Northern Lights. Then, it’s only a matter of time before the natural light show begins! This is Finland sightseeing at its finest! So, come hunt the Northern Lights! It’s what to do in Finland!
