Nanjing Road is famous as the first shopping street in China and the busiest shopping center in Shanghai. It boasts more than 600 shops including old shops, famous shops and shops with distinctive features. The Pedestrian-only Nanjing Road has become the largest round the clock shopping center in the city, in the country and even in Asia.
Huaihai Road is a charming 6km stretch which has become synonymous with what is trendy and fashionable in Shanghai. While the stretch between Shan Xi Road and Xi Zang Road is the busiest section (and best for people-watching), this commercial street contains more than 400 shops, restaurants and businesses. Shops on Huaihai Road also offer examples of the architectural styles of different countries.
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken in an air-conditioned car or mini coach (depending on the number of passengers) for a sightseeing tour of Shanghai. An English-speaking tour guide will accompany you on this tour.
Start with Nanjing Road, the main shopping street of Shanghai, and one of the world’s busiest shopping streets. Nanjing Road is located in the city center, running in a west-east direction. Its eastern section extends from The Bund, west to People's Square. The western section begins at People's Square and continues westward towards Jing'an District. This section is known for its luxurious shopping centers. It is the world's longest shopping district, around 6 km long. On both sides of the road are more than 600 shops and shopping centres carrying high quality, brand goods.
Huaihai Road, no less famous than Nanjing Road, is celebrated for its elegance. It features top-end designer brands from all over the world. Built in 1901, the six-kilometer-long Huai Hai Road commemorates the Huai Hai Battle during Liberation. Shanghainese are very proud of Huaihai Road as the street has a very urban, yet comfortable atmosphere. There are also many internationally renowned department stores such as Paris Spring, the Japanese Isetan, and Parkson’s, as well as Chinese stores such as Shanghai Ladies Goods Store and No.2 Department Store. The remnants of French architecture give the street its cosmopolitan charm. Many nearby attractions add to its appeal, including the proximity of Doctor Sun Yat-sen Former Residence and Memorial Hall.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Shanghai.
