The tour starts with the Oriental TV Tower, the unmistakable symbol of modern Shanghai, the highest tower in Asia and the third highest in the world. Enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai from the main observatory.
A cruise on Huang River gives you another way to see the Bund, the cultural district along the river. From this floating vantage point, you’ll see 80-100 year old buildings with diverse architectural styles.
Your final stop is Nanjing Road, the first commercial street in Shanghai. It is pedestrian friendly, with no cars allowed, and is the popular shopping center of the city.
You will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned coach and taken for a sightseeing tour of the modern landmarks of Shanghai. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.
The highlights of your tour include:
Oriental Pearl TV Tower: Standing in Pudong Park in the new and developing Lujiazui District, this is one of the most famous landmarks of Shanghai. It is surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in the northeast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest, and creates a picture of 'twin dragons playing with pearls'. It is the tallest structure in Asia and the third tallest in the world.
Huangpu River Cruise: A cruise on the Huangpu River, mother river of Shanghai, is one of the best ways to enjoy the Bund. Sailing down the river towards the East China Sea, you can enjoy the views of the full sweep of the Bund and the 21st century cityscape of Pudong. Gothic, Baroque, and Romanesque buildings line the Bund. People’s Square: There will be a photo stop at the People’s Square, the picturesque green space surrounded by buildings on all sides.
Urban Planning Exhibition: See the vision for the new Shanghai, complete with exhibits and an impressive scale model of the city planned for the future.
Nanjing Road: Nanjing Road is famous as the first shopping street in China and the busiest shopping center in Shanghai. It boasts more than 600 shops including old shops, famous shops and shops with distinctive features. The Pedestrian-only Nanjing Road has become the largest round the clock shopping center in the city, in the country and even in Asia.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Shanghai.
