Our tips for Thessaloniki

  • Greece is part of the EU and use the Euro as their currency. There are many ATMs around the city but not many exchange bureaus. So it is best to do exchanges at the airport or take money out when you arrive.
  • If you’re a non-EU visitor, be sure to ask for a GST receipt as you can claim your tax-back at the airport.

Good to know

Mid-August to mid-October is the best time to visit Thessaloniki as the weather is perfect and there are many festivals to enjoy. The months of March to May are also good for a visit as weather in spring is mild and pleasant.
