Itinerary

Ready to try the best of Japanese cuisine? Got the legs to explore three of Tokyo’s most famous districts? Prepared to get in among the locals, eat and drink beer, and get to know this metropolis? For that is precisely what you will do on this tour. It’s the perfect way to understanding how Tokyo works.

You’ll meet your local guide, don't worry they are experts and know the best places to visit, and then head into the Yurakucho area. You’ll be stepping into narrow alleyways with swinging lanterns and neon signs (totes traditional!) Visit a local Izakaya (a Japanese style pub) and sample the food. It’ll be like stepping back into 70’s Japan. Then it’s onto Ginza (a modern district), to explore the exciting food spots. Again sampling is the name of the game. So, sample the food you will. Including the famous Sembei (rice cracker).

The tour moves onto the third and final destination, the Shimbasi area. Famous for its eateries and Izakayas (more pubs, yay!), don't worry you'll be visiting them. Dine with the locals, eat like the locals and feel like you know Tokyo. It’s a winning combination.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking. On rainy days, please bring an umbrella.

If you have dietary issues or allergies (e.g., nuts, shellfish, gluten), mention them in the Special Requests section when booking. You can also call or email us. Please book and specify your needs well in advance, as last-minute changes may not be possible

For Vegetarians: Some of the dishes contain dashi, a soup stock made from kelp and bonito, which is essential in Japanese cuisine. If you cannot consume dashi, we may not be able to fully accommodate your dietary needs. Please also inform us if you can eat eggs and dairy product. If dashi is not suitable for you, we recommend booking a private tour where we can offer some alternatives. However, completely avoiding fish stock may still be challenging
