Our tips for Gran Canaria

  • Get cultured. This island is not known for its architecture, however delve a little deeper to Las Palmas’ historic centre, and you’ll find more cultured things to do in Gran Canaria. The Las Palmas cathedral took some 400 years to complete, and offers a great birds-eye view from its tower.
  • Walk this way. Plenty of great hiking trails show off Gran Canaria’s strikingly diverse landscape. One of the most iconic Gran Canaria tours, the walk to Roque Nublo, a volcanic rock in the centre of the island, is a must-do.
  • Dip and dive. Take a Gran Canaria day tour and head to Mogán in the island’s south for an epic scuba-diving experience.

Good to know

Gran Canaria is warm and sunny year-round. Summer, from June to October, brings the warmest weather – and the crowds – but the refreshing sea breeze means it never gets too humid. For quieter Gran Canaria attractions, plan your visit in the months of November and March.
