Our tips for Tenerife

  • Sweater weather. Although it’s is by no means cold here, evenings by the beach can get chilly. If you're planning on taking a Tenerife day trip to Mount Teide’s peak, a jumper is definitely advised.
  • Did someone say wine? Commended by Shakespeare himself, Tenerife has a long history of wine production. Tenerife sightseeing at its finest, head to a local vineyards for the finest drop, and remember to keep an eye out for houses adorned with the “se vende vino” (wine for sale) signs for a truly authentic splash.
  • Sunday fun-day. Save some precious dough and head to some top Tenerife attractions, the government-owned museums, on Sunday. Cultural gems such as the Anthropological Museum and the Museum of Man and Nature offer free entry on Sundays.

Good to know

Tenerife enjoys a warm climate all year round. Head to the island from May through to September for long and balmy days, with an average temperature of 28º. For cheaper rates and less crowds, the months of October and November are ideal. If you’re looking for super fun things to do in Tenerife, visit the island during the world-renowned Carnival of Santa Cruz in February.
