You will be dropped off at your hotel in Hanoi
Begin your tour in the morning by being picked up from your hotel in Hanoi. Once you are picked up you will be visiting the Ho Chi Minh Complex, the house on stilts, the quaint One-Pillar Pagoda and the Quan Thanh Taoist Temple. This is just the beginning and only what has been scheduled for the morning.
Saved for the afternoon is the exciting and enjoyable East part of the city. Here you will be taken to the Museum of History, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, and ‘The Huc’ Bridge. You will also take a trip by ‘green car’ through the infamous Old Quarters. To finish the day there will be the option of attending a show of water puppetry, a stage art invented in Vietnam hundreds of years ago.
This Day is packed full of culture, history, and adventure but to get an even more personal experience with the city of Hanoi you can upgrade to your own private tour.
To start your Full Day Hanoi Sightseeing Tour will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi.
Your first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where visitors can pay respects to the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh.
In the grounds of Hanoi’s presidential palace you can visit Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, the simple two-room dwelling where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1958 until his final days (1969). Preserved in the same condition as during his life, it may be viewed through the windows.
Also visit the One Pillar Pagoda, an architecturally-unique example of Vietnam’s pagodas. First built in 1049 during the Ly Dynasty, the pagoda is in the shape of a blooming lotus.
Continue to the Quan Thanh Taoist Temple, dedicated to one of the principal deities in Taoism; this 11th century temple is one of Hanoi’s major attractions.
To revive you in the middle of the day stop for a traditional Vietnamese lunch.
Then in the afternoon you will go explore the Museum of History, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, and ‘The Huc’ Bridge. The end of the day will consist of a green car trip through the Old Quarter and once finished with that you will be brought to a Vietnamese water puppet show.
After the show you will be driven back to the hotel that you were picked up at in Hanoi.
Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is open five mornings a week and ten months a year. The closing time is all afternoon, all day on Monday and Friday, and from early October to early December for scheduled maintenance.
Most of the Museums in Hanoi are closed on Monday.
