Overview

Spend a delightful day from Kuala Lumpur, interacting with the aborigines of Malaysia and playing with the elephants at Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary. Observe the lifestyle of the aborigine settlements and see how displaced Asian elephants are rehabilitated at the conservation center.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kuala Lumpur and driven to the aboriginal settlement of State of Pahang.

During the course of the tour, your day will look like:

• Get an insight about the aborigine culture of Malaysia and see the locals going about their daily activities like hunting for food, building fires and making handicrafts. Listen to fascinating stories from the aborigines about their legends, customs and traditions.

• Next, you will head to Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary run by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks. The main task of the conservation center is to save Asian elephants who have lost their natural habitats due to urbanisation.

• At the sanctuary, learn about the importance of preservation of natural habitat and environment. See more than 300 elephants thriving in the re-created natural environments. You may feed them and enjoy an elephant show. You may also choose to bath with baby elephants in the river (direct payable).

• While you enjoy with the elephants, take a break and enjoy a packed lunch.

At the end of the excursion, you will be dropped back to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Please be informed that in line with the sanctuary’s enhanced approach in conservation practices, the elephant riding activity has been discontinued in the centre. The new regulation is enforced to avoid causing distress to the elephants and enabling them to live in their natural environment as much as possible.

Voucher Information: You must print and surrender a paper version of your booking voucher for this activity (showing your voucher on a smartphone is not accepted). No refund can be given for customers without a printed copy of their voucher.
Wear comfortable shoes and hat / cap for this tour. Keep a bath towel and spare clothing in case you get wet or dirty.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have. Bathing activity would be cancelled if water level is dangerous.There should be minimum of 2 passengers for guaranteed departure.
