Your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
On the fringes of Kuala Lumpur are located some of its famous landmarks. The Royal Selangor Pewter Factory is world-famous for its beautiful pewter products made of tin, copper and antimony. The factory finds also mention in the Guinness Book of Records for producing a tankard 6.5 feet high with a capacity of 4920 pints! Grab a few products from the retail shop as souvenirs. A tour of the Batik Factory can be a great learning experience to see how local batik, the art of decorating cloth with wax and dye to create wonderful colours and patterns, is made.
The renowned limestone hills of Batu Caves, north of Kuala Lumpur, attract thousands of devotees every year during the annual Thaipusam festival. Walk up 272 steps to the Cathedral Cave, which houses Hindu deities beneath a 100 metre ceiling. Climb the Batu Caves, 272 steps to the shrine of Hindu Lord Murugan, visited by over a million pilgrims every year on the annual Thaipusam festival. Enjoy a surreal experience in one of the natural limestone caverns as light filters in from above.
The tour will go to the following places:
• Batu Caves: On the way, you will pass by typical Malay houses before coming to your last stop, the spectacular Batu Caves. This massive limestone outcrop and its cavernous interior are home to Hindu deities. The Batu Caves is also the famous site of the annual Thaipusam festival (in January/February) where almost a million devotees congregate.
• Royal Selangor Pewter Factory: This is one of the largest and most well known pewter factory in the world, reputed for is high quality and craftsmanship. You will be shown the different processes, such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving during this factory tour.
That's not all! Enjoy the Batik painting workshop and get to learn the tips and tricks.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Voucher Information: Sorry, but we will need you to print a paper version of your booking voucher (we're working on changing this). At this time no refund can be given for customers without a printed copy of their voucher.
A surcharge of MYR35.00 per person is applicable for pick-up and drop-off at Sunway Lagoon Resort & Spa, KL Sentral, Hilton KL & Le Meridien, Cititel Midvalley and the Boulevard (pick up time shall be advised at the time of booking).
Since we would visit a place of worship, wearing shirts with sleeves and avoiding shorts, vest tops and open toe sandals would be best.
Nice short tour of KL. Nice vehicle and a really good guide....
This was a great private tour. We got a good introduction to the different areas of Kuala Lumpur. We got to see many different places like temple, mosque, and even the new kings...
We arranged a private city sightseeing tour. Booking the tour and further communications were excellent. We could spend as little or as much time as we wanted at each site....
