The weather is quite warm and humid throughout the year. But the best time to visit the Everglades National Park is from December to April. The weather is dry, there are lesser insects and less rain. You can expect a hurricane if you visit between July and November.

Everglades National Park can be accessed via three routes. The primary entrance is located on State Road 9336 in Homestead and leads to the Royal Palm and Flamingo areas. Another entrance, Shark Valley, can be found on U.S. 41 Tamiami Trail in Miami, while the third entrance, the Gulf Coast entrance, is situated on Oyster Bar Lane in Everglades City. It is important to note that these entrances do not connect within the park.
Everglades National Park is open from 8:30 am to 6 pm all days a week.
The area is massive, so you would need a car to get from one place to another. The best way to explore the wetlands is by boat. Kayaking, canoe trips, and airboat rides are hugely popular. Walking and biking are other options. From Miami, it takes a little less than an hour to reach the park by car.
A visit to the Everglades National Park can be the perfect pocket-friendly vacation for the family. The airboat rides are affordable and so is the food. Entry is free on the Gulf Coast. You can also get some free vacation advice at the Gulf Coast Visitor Center. To save money, book months in advance and online to avail some great deals and discounts. You could also book packages that include transfers to avoid hassles and paying extra.
There are no accommodations for lodging within Everglades National Park. However, camping is available at two campground facilities: Long Pine Key near the Homestead entrance, and Flamingo located 38 miles south of the Homestead entrance. In addition, there are various backcountry camping sites available for those who prefer a wilderness experience.
