Join us for a thrilling night-time adventure to find one of Mother Nature’s greatest showstoppers – the magical phenomenon known as The Northern Lights!
Far from the glow of the city, we will hunt for the magnificent but elusive auroras, best seen on cold, clear nights in winter. If conditions are right, we may be lucky enough to witness the awesome spectacle of the Lights swirling in a wild and carefree dance across the sky in vivid colours and dramatic patterns. The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon.
The Northern Lights are seen in winter, usually on clear crisp nights in places far away from the city lights.
Unfortunately, the Northern Lights are as unpredictable as they are stunning. Our local activity operator has years of experience in tracking the Northern Lights and will carefully research conditions on the day of the tour to give you the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. However, if you do not see it, you will be offered to join another Northern Lights tour free of charge. Therefore you are recommended to book this for a night early during your stay in Iceland.
At the end of the excursion you will return to Reykjavik in a comfortable coach.
Voucher information: No need to print! You can show your voucher on your smartphone or other device.
Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour to confirm all departure details.
In case pickup is not possible directly from your hotel, you will be picked up from another location nearest to your place.
Icelandic winter nights can be very cold, we recommend dressing in warm layers and sturdy shoes. Restrooms available at most of the tour stops.
Northern Lights is a natural phenomenon and sightings are not guaranteed! In the event of an unsuccessful northern lights hunt, there will be no refund. However, you may join on subsequent tours until you have a successful night of seeing the northern lights.
A decision is taken daily at 5 pm whether the tour will take place or not, depending on the Northern Lights forecast. To confirm whether the tour will take place, please visit the book.grayline.is or contact your hotel or our sales office.
If the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions, you can attend same tour later day, or you can get a refund.
Indicated return times can vary due to road & weather conditions.
Bus stop 10 will no longer be available, You will be picked up at stop 9. Which is located on Snorrabraut, short distance away.
