Overview

Enjoy a memorable trip to Lake Chiemsee. Take a boat ride and visit the famous castle of ‘Herrenchiemsee’ built by King Ludwig II. Explore its magnificent interiors and stroll through the exotic gardens. Also enjoy a boat ride on the Lake Chiemsee and get acquainted with Bavaria’s lakeside attractions.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken for this private sightseeing tour in an air conditioned vehicle, as per your convenience. Your driver is your multilingual guide (English & German) for this tour.

See the Palace of Herrenchiemsee (New Palace). In 1873 King Ludwig II of Bavaria acquired the Herreninsel as the location for his Royal Palace. Modelled on Versailles, this palace was built as a Temple of Fame for King Louis XIV of France, whom the Bavarian monarch fervently admired. See the large state rooms, the state staircase, the state bedroom and the Great Hall of Mirrors. The king's own rooms were in the intimate small apartment, designed in the French rococo style.

Also enjoy a boat ride on Lake Chiemsee, a freshwater lake in Bavaria.

Drive back to Salzburg where you will be dropped off to your hotel.
