Overview
Come face-to-face with nature as you hike along the trails of the Jozani Forest with an experienced park ranger. This protected land includes a groundwater forest, a coastal forest, grassland, and mangroves and salt marsh at the coast.
Home to the famous Red Colobus Monkey, an endangered species endemic to Unguja/Zanzibar. This intriguing monkey has been isolated from its mainland counterparts for at least ten thousand years, thus producing distinct sub-species with different calls, eating habits and coat patterns. The Jozani Forest has become the last stronghold in the world for this particular species of colobus.
Don't forget your camera as when you walk under the rich canopies you may spot other primates such as the Sykes monkey, bushbabies, shy duikers and rich variety of colourful birds and butterflies.
