Overview
LAND & PEOPLE UNGUJA is a unique full day experience that provides a rare opportunity to learn social, economical and political activities of rural Zanzibar. The tour includes a visit to a typical Zanzibar village - Muyuni - and creates a supportive environment for our clients to directly interact with the community in order to learn the culture and traditions of Zanzibaris. During their visit clients will have the chance to visit a local school to acquit with local education system.
Another stop will be hold at the Seaweed Center in Paje. It is a social responsible business that provides female seaweed farmers with opportunities to improve their personal standard of living and develop economic activities that benefits the entire community, The project comprises a factory and gathering site to produce soaps and creams from seaweed that are sold locally.
Finally you will visit the Zanzibar Butterfly Center, an interactive butterfly exhibit near to Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, through outside the park boundaries. The exhibit consists of a netted tropical garden with usually hundreds of butterflies, all of which are native species to Zanzibar.
At the center it is possible to experience butterflies feeding and flying very close at a hand and to witness the complete life cycle of many species.
