Alirón! is the war cry of the people of Bilbao, the one that sounds the most when the Athletic Club wins a title.
It is said that the word 'Alirón' comes from the English 'All Iron', because at the end of the 19th century when the English found in Bilbao a mine full of this mineral, they wrote on the entrance 'All Iron ' and all the miners began to sing "Alirón, Alirón!". Iron and titanium, likewise, reached the city at its peak in 1997 with the opening of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
This tour will allow you to know both icons of the city. First, we will make a guided tour of 45min. to the San Mames stadium, known as "La Catedral" (The Cathedral), the headquarters of the Athletic Club of Bilbao, with more than 105 years of football on the same site and at the same time one of the most cutting-edge football fields in Europe. Footballer, imagine and feel the excitement of jumping to the field, live the experience of touring the press room, the local locker room or leaving through the locker room tunnel.
Afterwards, free time to admire its 1,400m2 museum full of history. After the end of the visit, our guide awaits us to make a pleasant walking tour of Abandoibarra, the modern area of ??the city until we reach the Guggenheim Museum where we will make a private visit of 1h30min. to the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
We finish the tour with a magnificent lunch at the prestigious Rte. Bistro, located inside the museum.
