Sample delicious mouthwatering whisky at Tomatin distillery. A drive through Speyside will make you realize how it is quite literally a whisky heaven with several distilleries per square mile of the region!
What's the plan:
Start your day by leaving Inverness and traveling through the stunning landscapes of Speyside towards Dava Moor, where you'll get fantastic views of the Cairngorms National Park.
Keep your camera ready for capturing the colorful heather if you're visiting in summer or autumn. Your first stop is Carrbridge, a forest village, where you can grab refreshments, enjoy the mountain air, and stroll around the Old Packhorse Bridge. Next, head south to Glenmore Forest Park, where you can either take a walk through the woods to Loch Morlich, a beautiful loch with a sandy beach, or visit the café and exhibition at the visitor center. After some outdoor time, head to Aviemore for lunch.
Conclude your great day with a taste of delicious whisky at Tomatin Distillery, experiencing the aromas of fruit and spice in this charming little town. Finally, head back to Inverness, arriving early in the evening.
