Starting from Edinburgh, you travel westward through a historical paradise. You'll see Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, and Doune Castle, with a stop in Callander for refreshments.
Continuing north, you'll pass through the stunning scenery of Loch Lubnaig and the remote beauty of Rannoch Moor.
Next, you traverse the dramatic mountain pass of Glencoe, the site of the infamous 1692 massacre of the Clan MacDonald. After lunch, you'll see Britain’s highest peak, Ben Nevis, and enter the Great Glen. Heading west, you'll drive past the striking peaks of the Five Sisters of Kintail.
Your journey includes a visit to the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed sites. Crossing the bridge to Skye, you'll follow the island’s dramatic coastline to its capital, Portree. You'll be dropped off at your accommodation in the early evening, with plenty of time to explore the town.
Today is a flexible day on Skye, with your driver-guide tailoring the route to the weather, local events, and your group's interests.
You might head north to explore the Trotternish Ridge, where you'll encounter geological marvels such as the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the breathtaking Quiraing mountain pass. Alternatively, your guide could take you back in time to learn about the legends and clan culture at the 13th-century Dunvegan Castle, the ancestral home of Clan MacLeod.
In the evening, you'll return to Portree.
You head south through the Cuillin Hills and return to the mainland, where you'll enjoy stunning views of Loch Duich and the Five Sisters of Kintail.
Next, you visit Loch Ness for lunch, with a chance to spot the legendary "Nessie." Continuing south, you journey through the Grampian mountains along Loch Laggan, now famous as "Monarch of the Glen Country," before passing Dalwhinnie and Blair Castle.
We'll pause for refreshments in one of the charming villages of Perthshire, then travel past Perth, over the Firth of Forth, and back to Edinburgh.
The optional Loch Ness boat cruise is weather-dependent and may be cancelled without notice.
