Lose yourself in the drama and passion of the gipsy dance known as Zambra. Hear the clacking of the finger cymbals; see the swirling skirts and the crisp footwork of the graceful performers.
In this impressive setting you will enjoy the flamenco show that contains the essence and the colourful atmosphere of Sacromonte, accompanied by a typical Andalusian dinner or a refreshing drink, depending on your choice. But whatever you choose, it's sure to be a night to remember!
For your magical Live Flamenco – Sacromonte experience you will be picked up from your Granada hotel.
You will be driven to the Alhambra, which stands majestically against a backdrop of the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada.
If you have opted to have dinner you will be served a traditional Andalusian meal. Choose from an extensive menu which offers many options to cater to all tastes. You can enjoy traditional Spanish tapas or try some local specialties. Drinks – red and white wine, beer, water and soft drinks – are included with the meal.
If you have chosen the 'Show Only' option, you will be served a free drink as you watch the performance.
The 90-minute show takes place in a ‘cave’ setting at Venta El Gallo, at the Sacromonte. This venue specializes in Zambra, a style of flamenco dance performed by the Romani people (Gitanos) of Granada. It is said to have developed from historic Moorish dances and has some resemblance to belly dancing. Zambra is danced barefoot with finger cymbals, the blouse is tied under the bust and the skirt is drawn tight around the hips before flaring out to a ruffle at the end.
The Zambra is danced at Gitano weddings and performed for tourists in the Andalusian Sacromonte Caves and Hills. At one time it was outlawed and became known as the ‘Forbidden Dance’.
At the end of the evening you will be dropped off back at your hotel in Granada.
If your hotel is in a street that is inaccessible by microbus then our local partners will offer another pick up location close to your hotel.
Please call the local activity operator 24 hours prior to your tour to confirm the exact pick-up location and time.
If you are not staying in Granada city centre or you wish to come by your own car the meeting point will be Meliá Hotel
