Overview

Madrid, the capital of Spain, is one of the most important cities in the world. It combines the modern with the cultural, the artistic and the ancient, the result of centuries of captivating history.

Enjoy a 1-hour walking tour through the historic city center, stroll around Plaza de la Villa, the famous Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Oriente, visit the magnificent Puerta de Toledo, and pass by Mayor Street, Puerta del Sol square and the Las Cortes quarter on your way to the Paseo del Prado.

Observe the architecture of the Old Madrid arriving into the Las Letras Quarter.

Drive by Cibeles Fountain, where Real Madrid fans celebrate the team victories. You will also be seeing Puerta de Alcalá, the most famous of the five ancient gates into the city. The tour ends as you pass the Santiago Bernabéu stadium through Paseo de la Castellana street and Colon square.

Check in again at our office in central Madrid 15 minutes in advance of your tour. Travel to Toledo on a comfortable air-conditioned coach.

Enjoy a walking tour of the Historic City of Toledo, World Heritage City since 1986. Once Spain’s capital, it is a perfect amalgamation of Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures.

Explore the courtyard cloisters and royal coats of arms at the San Juan de los Reyes Monastery and discover the building sponsored by the Catholic Monarchs to become a royal mausoleum. Visit the Synagogue of Sta. Maria la Blanca. Today a fantastic museum of Mudejar (Arabic) style, see the world- famous painting of by el Greco – The Burial of the Count of Orgaz – at the Church of St. Tomé.

See the Cathedral from outside, considered of the most important Gothic Cathedrals in Spain. After the tour, you have time to explore on your own before returning to Madrid.

Itinerary

Your Toldeo and Madrid Sightseeing tour departs from designated meeting point where a coach will take you to Toledo to begin your trip.

In the UNESCO World Heritage City of Toledo, you will find a unique and beautiful city where three cultures (Christian, Moorish and Jewish) coexist and leave their mark on the city.

While in Toledo you will view the Cathedral, the Church of St. Tomé, Synagogue of Sta. María, the Museum of Victorio Macho, the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, and much more. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

From Toledo the tour will continue with a city sightseeing tour of Madrid where you will explore Madrid’s rich history. You will be able to see the medieval origins of the city, the Renaissance and Baroque buildings, many historically famous buildings and structures, contemporary Madrid, and you will also visit the famous Prado Museum.

The tour ends at the starting point where you will be expected to make your own further travel arrangements.
