Overview

Experience the surreal magic of a desert sunrise over the magnificent Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) as well as a guided hike to the majestic Valley of the Winds on this tour.

Departing in almost darkness, we make our way to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park knowing we’ll be the first ones to enter it. We will make our way the Kata Tjuta Dune Viewing platform, we will sink into the surreal silence of the desert as we sip on our morning tea or coffee or even a steaming cup of hot chocolate along with a light breakfast. Witness the Red Centre desert come to life as dawn creeps over Kata Tjuta and lights up this incredible formation of rock domes which extends six kilometres into the ground. The remains of erosion that began more than 500 million years ago, the towering bornhardts are a spellbinding sight to behold at the break of dawn - bathed in an uncountable number of colours.

Next up is our mesmerising walk to the Valley of the Winds, taking us down into a timeless haven within the domes through trickling creek beds. We’ll head to the first lookout, Karu, while spotting rare flora on the way, to dig into stunning views of the surrounding landscape. From here, you can choose an adventurous trail to the second vantage point, Karingana, from where you can savour the majestic views of the Aborigines’ sacred area, or embark on the easier trek to Walpa Gorge which takes you on a path that crosses right through the middle of Kata Tjuta’s breathtaking domes.

Don’t forget to report at the meeting point or pickup location at least 20 minutes before the start time to avoid any last minute rush.

It is recommended that you wear closed walking shoes and carry sunglasses, a hat, some sunscreen, a water bottle and some warmer layers of clothing for the cooler months.
