Overview

Palmitos Park is a large subtropical botanical garden and aviary on the island of Gran Canaria. The park lies in a countryside setting, in the midst of mountains and offers visitors beautiful views and vistas when walking through the park.

A striking feature of the park is the staggering amount of birds, cacti and succulents. There are over 1,500 exotic birds of 230 different species and over 160 different cactus types and 1000 palm trees of 42 different types.

The most common birds in the park are parrot-like birds as well as a variety of swans and ducks.. Many of these fly freely in the park. Other animals can also be seen here, such as monkeys and crocodiles. The park’s orchid house, an aquarium with fish and coral displays, and Europe's largest butterfly house are worth a visit.

Itinerary

On reaching the Palmitos Park, please present your voucher to gain entry into the Park. Your booking voucher will serve as an entrance ticket to allow you to go directly inside.

The Palmitos Park specialises in tropical birds, although there is a huge variety of animals and plants as well. This is a great opportunity to be in contact with the natural environment and see birds from all over the world.

There are also Parrots Show, Birds of Prey Show, Exotic Birds Show and Dolphin Show and a aquarium with more than 4000 fish and a natural coral reef, monkeys, orang-utans, gibbons, caimans, iguanas and many more species.

There is a small terrace near a fountain, along a path that leads up to the amphitheater where flying birds of prey perform in shows. This is the highlight of the park and is a must-see attraction.

Throughout the park, there are plenty of snack bars, restaurants as well as a small cafeteria to have lunch in.

You can spend as much time in the park as you want before making your own way back to Maspalomas.
