The New York State Capitol of Albany is home to the equivalent of 1% of the city’s population. Nearly 1,000 different languages are spoken in the city. And almost half of the households speak a language other than English.
The city became home to the headquarters of the United Nations in 1952. The building itself is considered International Territory. On April 25th, 1901, New York became the first state to require license plates. But the government didn't issue them. The onus was on drivers to make license plates themselves out of whatever materials they chose.
In New York, the weather can change from minute to minute. For clear skies during the day and crisp, comfortable nights during your trip, come during May or October. During the hot and humid summer months, New York draws countless tourists. However, you can also take part in a bunch of different concerts, festivals, and other events during a summer New York tour. The New York skyline sparkles during the holidays. But you will definitely need your warmest clothes.
Once you land in New York, you simply need to redeem your voucher at any of the several Hop-on, Hop-off Visitor Centers found throughout the city. In exchange, you’ll receive your Bus Tour ticket. Then, you can start your Tour at any of the stops along the various routes. Just show your new ticket to the driver. And, if you can’t find your way to any of the 30+ stops, the bright red, double-decker bus is pretty easy to spot.
Depending on your travel plans, you can choose from a 1-hour or 1-day pass.
