The best time to visit St. Peter's Basilica is during the morning, and we're talking earlier the better as it opens usually from 7 am. If you do have Vatican skip-the-line tickets, then that will help of course if you have to visit later in the day. St. Peter's Basilica can also be very crowded at the weekends and during the peak summer season! Early is best for sure.
Vatican tours start at the main entrance, so your guide will be waiting for you outside there. It's best to arrive 15 minutes early so leave plenty of time to get there. Also, you can buy a Hop-on Hop-off Bus Rome tour to see other top Roman attractions alongside.
St. Peter’s Basilica is open from 7 am to 7 pm from April to September. It is open from 7 am to 6 pm from October to March.
You can enter St. Basilica for free. However, St. Peter’s Basilica guided tour starts at GB£ 23.77.
You must not miss the baldachin of Bernini, beautiful statues, the tombs, the intricate dome and the Necropolis during your trip to St. Peter’s Basilica.
